Screen sharing is now ready to be added to the Messenger app introduced by Facebook to use the instant messaging feature on the Facebook platform.
Jane Manchun Wong, a longtime correspondent on Facebook, Messenger and Instagram, points out that when screen sharing is turned on, the camera is turned off and the chatting user can see the content on the other person’s screen.
However, this feature does not allow you to control the mobile phone of the other party and only the screen can be viewed.
Often this feature is useful when another person is getting help with a problem on their mobile phone and this eliminates the need to install another app. However, this feature is still in development and it is possible for the firm to include it in a stable version, or even to abandon it.
